Victim Dies in El Camino Avenue Shooting

At 11:00 p.m. on December 12, 2016, the victim of the earlier shooting on El Camino Avenue succumbed to his injuries, and was declared deceased at the hospital.

A little before 3:50 p.m., the Sheriff’s Communication Center received a 911 call stating there was a male bleeding from head in the 2100 block of El Camino Avenue (Beacon Gas Station) in Sacramento.

Deputies responded to the scene, and located a 23 year old male victim in the parking lot of the business suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.  The victim was unresponsive but still breathing and had a faint pulse.  Deputies immediately began life saving measures.  Sacramento Metro Fire responded to the scene, and transported the victim to a local hospital.

The victim arrived at the gas station with a friend.  Witnesses stated they heard one gunshot, and observed a dark colored SUV or truck flee the scene of the shooting.  There were no description of the occupant(s) of the vehicle.  There is no known motive at this time.  Detectives are on-scene and beginning their investigation.

The identity of the victim in this case will be made available by the Sacramento County Coroner’s office, after notification has been made to his next of kin.
