January 1, 2013 Fatal Vehicle Accident A vehicle accident on Bradshaw Road claimed the life of a 21 year-old man earlier this afternoon. The victim's vehicle ran off the road and overturned in the lot of a school, pinning him inside. Emergency medical personnel responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. A male passenger who was also inside the vehicle at the time of the accident escaped without being injured. At approximately 3:15 p.m. today, Rancho Cordova police officers and Sheriff's deputies responded to the intersection of Bradshaw Road and Lincoln Village Drive regarding a vehicle rollover accident. Upon arriving, officers found the driver of the car unresponsive inside. It was learned that a male passenger had fled from the scene just after the accident, but later discovered that he had gone to summon assistance. Witnesses reported that the vehicle, a 2000 Mercury sedan, was traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on Lincoln Village Drive, approaching Bradshaw Road. The vehicle struck an island in the northeast portion of the intersection, before careening across Bradshaw Road and into the lot of a school on the west side of the street.
