Identity of Robbery Suspect Sought

Sheriff's detectives are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a robbery suspect responsible for at least one robbery and another attempted robbery at pharmacies earlier this week. The suspect, who can be seen in video surveillance from one of the incidents, is described as a white or Hispanic male in his 20s, approximately 5'6" and 140 pounds. He wore dark sunglasses and a hooded sweatshirt during both incidents.

On January 21, 2013 at approximately 2:35 p.m., the suspect entered a Rite-Aid store in the 8300 block of Elk Grove-Florin Road. He displayed a handgun and demanded prescription drugs from employees, before fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of pills. The following day, at 1:00 p.m., a suspect believed to be the same man entered a pharmacy in the 1700 block of Professional Drive. He jumped over a counter, brandished a handgun, and demanded drugs from an employee before fleeing the scene. The weapon used in both incidents has been described as a small, silver handgun.
