September 3, 2011 Homicide on 46th Avenue Earlier this morning at approximately 12:30 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 3700 block of 46th Avenue in south Sacramento regarding a shooting. The caller stated that after hearing two gunshots, she observed a man lying on the ground in front of her residence. Deputies arrived at the scene, along with paramedics. The victim, an Asian male in his twenties, had sustained two gunshot wounds; one to his upper body and one to his leg. He was transported to an area hospital and underwent surgery; however, he died of his injuries. Preliminary information suggested that immediately after the shooting, several individuals were observed running from the scene. It is not known whether these people are suspects or witnesses at this time. Homicide detectives are investigating the incident, and have detained at least one individual for questioning.
