October 21, 2009 Suspects Arrested for Kidnapping Baby On October 20, 2009, at 4:34 p.m. Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shopping center parking lot at Watt Avenue and El Camino Avenue regarding a domestic violence incident. When deputies arrived they spoke to a 20-year-old female who told them her boyfriend had held her against her will, driven her to Sacramento from a residence in San Pablo and physically assaulted her when he forced her and her 8-year-old child out of the vehicle when they stopped in the parking lot after arguing. She also told deputies her boyfriend was accompanied by his step-father and when they drove away they took her 8-month-old baby. The girl’s boyfriend was identified as 28-year-old Willie Williams. Williams’ stepfather was identified as 47-year-old Robert Bailey. Deputies quickly identified the address of the residence in San Pablo; they contacted the San Pablo Police Department and asked them to watch the home. They also alerted all northern California law enforcement agencies about the abduction. At approximately 11:00 p.m., officers stopped the two men when they returned to the residence in San Pablo. After the suspects were detained, the officers made contact with the residents of the home and located the 8-month old baby. The baby was unharmed and taken into protective custody to be reunited with its mother. The two suspects were booked into jail by the San Pablo Police Department. Williams was charged with domestic violence, false imprisonment, and kidnapping. Bailey was charged with kidnapping. Sergeant Tim Curran, |
