Homicide on Marconi Avenue

On October 25, 2009, at 2:23 a.m., Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an apartment complex in the 5300 block of Marconi Avenue regarding a report that someone in the complex had been stabbed. Deputies arrived and found a 35-year-old male resident of the complex lying on the ground. He had suffered multiple stab wounds to his upper body. Paramedics arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital where he died a short time later.

Deputies quickly arrested two residents from a nearby apartment. The 47-year-old woman and her 23-year-old son were both identified as having stabbed the victim. Deputies were told the stabbing was the result of an ongoing dispute between the neighbors. The cause of the dispute and motive for the stabbing is unknown at this time.

The suspects were driven to the Sheriff’s Centralized Investigation office to be interviewed by Sheriff’s Homicide detectives. The detectives will determine if the suspects will be booked into jail and what charges, if any, they will face.

Anyone with information about this case is urged to call Sheriff’s Homicide detectives at (916) 874-5115.
