A little after 5:30 a.m. on March 11, 2017, 32-year-old Latasha Marie Dora of Rancho Cordova, drove her vehicle through the Sacramento County Main Jail lobby doors. The lobby doors are located on I Street between 6th Street and 7th Street in downtown Sacramento.
Dora was immediately detained by deputies without incident. Nobody was injured during the incident. Dora stated she had struck other buildings in the downtown area. Those areas have been checked, and there is no indication of that at this time.
Dora was arrested and booked for felony vandalism and destruction of a jail facility. Her motive is still unclear. She is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail, and is scheduled to be arraigned in Sacramento Superior Court on March 13, 2017.
Visitation for all inmates at the Main Jail will be cancelled until further notice because of the damage to the jail. Visitation availability may be checked on the website at http://www.sacsheriff.com/Pages/Organization/Main_Jail/InmateVisitation.aspx.
