Homicide on Auburn Boulevard

A little after 11:45 p.m. on March 19, 2017, the Sheriff’s Communication Center received a 911 call regarding a gunshot heard in the 3200 block of Auburn Boulevard in Sacramento.  Further information was provided that the gunshot possibly came from a room inside a motel.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the motel, and began to canvass the area.  Deputies located a deceased female inside one of the rooms.  The unidentified female victim was in her 40’s-50’s with apparent trauma to her head.  There is no known motive at this time.  Homicide detectives are on-scene and beginning their investigation.

The identity of the victim in this case will be made available by the Sacramento County Coroner’s office, after notification has been made to her next of kin.
