The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department issues the following equipment:
Vacation/Sick Leave Employees accrue leave based on their employment status, representation unit, and length of service. All permanent employees accrue sick leave at 4.6 hours per bi-weekly period. Vacation accrual is earned on a gradual scale based on years of service. Retirement - Sacramento County Employee's Retirement System (SCERS) Sworn employees appointed to permanent positions will be classified under the Safety Category, First or Second Tier Retirement program. An employee date of hire into membership employment as well as the bargaining unit to which the employee belongs, are the determining factors for Safety First and Second Tier Membership. Under SCERS, contributions are required from both the employee and the employer. Retirement benefits are based upon a formula which takes into consideration an employees' final compensation, age and years of credited service. Reciprocity is recognized by SCERS. Medical, Dental and Vision Benefits Sacramento County offers full-time employees and their dependents comprehensive medical and dental plan benefits.
