The Sheriff’s Department operates the Lost & Found at the Sacramento International Airport. If an item is located it will be turned over to Sheriff’s personnel for inventory and safekeeping. This includes all items found by airport employees, citizens and TSA.

If an item was left on an aircraft, at the ticket counter or on a baggage carousel, that item would be with the respective airlines baggage service office.

If the item was left in a rental car it would remain with the rental car company.

If the item lost was a credit card, please call your credit card company immediately and have your card cancelled.

To file a lost item report online, you may use our Airport Lost and Found Reporting System located at: http://www.sacsheriff.com/airportlostandfound

For telephone inquiries concerning lost property you can call (916) 874-0701. This line is not staffed continually, if you get a message please leave the following information:

  • Your name
  • A telephone contact number
  • A description of item(s) lost
  • The area or terminal where the property was lost
  • The airline and flight number you were traveling on
  • The date and time the item was lost

This information will help us locate your property. Because of the large volume of property we handle, we will only contact you if we find your item(s).

Sheriff’s Deputies are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for property being turned in or claimed.
