The Northeast Division's two Service Centers are staffed by Problem Oriented Policing (POP) Officers who are dedicated to handling specific community problems which cannot normally be addressed by patrol officers. Patrol officers are limited in the time and resources they can commit to specific problems, while POP officers utilize a unique and varied array of resources in resolving identified community problems. POP officers work in conjunction with other agencies such as fire, code enforcement, licensing, animal control and numerous others to alleviate complex neighborhood problems.

The office staff and volunteers assist the community through the organization and presentation of community meetings, helping establish Business and Neighborhood Watch programs, taking reports and providing public assistance and information at the front counters of the Service Centers. The Service Centers also provide a vacation check service for residents. Volunteers will record the dates and location and conduct the vacation checks for residents. Both Service Centers are equipped with Megan's Law computers for public use. Additionally, both provide inked fingerprinting services.
