Domestic Violence Response Team (DVRT)
916.876.5733

The Sacramento County Domestic Violence Response Team (DVRT) is a collaborative effort between the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department and Women Escaping a Violent Environment (WEAVE). This program is made possible by funding and support from the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department, and WEAVE.

The mission of the domestic Violence Response Team is to work collaboratively through a multidisciplinary approach to empower families of domestic violence by providing advocacy, education, intervention, and community outreach. In addition, the program strives to increase batterer accountability, and promote a zero-tolerance of domestic violence in our community.

All cases of domestic violence should be reported. If you are a victim of domestic violence, and the crime is occurring, call 9-1-1 immediately. If you are in crisis and need to talk to someone, call the WEAVE Crisis Line at 916.920.2952.

The Domestic Violence Response Team does not investigate reports of domestic violence. The initial report is taken by patrol deputies, and the stationhouse detectives will conduct further investigative follow-up. The WEAVE Advocates, working with the stationhouse detectives, review domestic violence reports made to the Sheriff’s Department and referrals from other agencies.

The Detective and the WEAVE Victim Advocate will offer assistance with the following services:
