The CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) Unit entails processing a crime scene in the field to preserve it for the future. CSI Deputies locate, evaluate and collect latent and patent fingerprints and photograph injuries of victims and suspects. They also process major crime scenes such as homicides and assaults. This involves collecting and packaging items of evidence for processing by the ID Technicians. It also involves photographing and videographing the scene for detectives and for court proceedings. They also must provide a basic sketch of the scene and the items of evidence. Our CSI Deputies are sworn deputies who must meticulously detail evidence in order to support the field deputies' reports and assist detectives in solving crimes.
