Public hours of operation: The Environmental Crime Unit investigates incidents that have a direct impact on the land, water or air of Sacramento County. These include the illegal disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste into the creeks, rivers and storm drains. Illegal storage of hazardous materials and the illegal dumping or disposal of automotive fluids, solvents or paint. An Environmental Crimes Tip line has been established at (916) 876-7455. Anyone wishing to report an environmental crime may do so at this number. The line is provided to allow reporting of crimes not currently in progress and callers may remain anonymous. For in-progress crimes, callers should contact the Sheriff's Communications center at (916) 874-5111 or 911. |
