Detectives Investigating Suspicious Death in Rosemont

On October 27, 2018, at 10:53 a.m. the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department Communications Center received a call for assistance from the Sacramento Metro Fire Department.  The fire department indicated they were out with a deceased male in the 4000 block of Ashgrove Way.  Fire Department personnel believed the death to be suspicious.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene and concurred with the fire department’s assessment of the suspicious nature of this incident.  The initial call was reported to the fire department from a resident in the area who explained there was an unresponsive person lying in the bushes on the side of a residence.

Sheriff’s Department Homicide Investigators have responded to the scene, which is standard protocol in these situations.  At this point, the victim has not been identified and investigators do not know the manner in which this person died.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious last night in the area of Ashgrove Way and Birchgrove Way to contact the Sheriff’s Department.

The identity of the victim, in this case, will be made available by the Sacramento County Coroner’s office, after notification has been made to his next of kin.

Detectives are asking anyone with information relating to this incident, to please contact the Sheriff’s Department at (916) 874-5115 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP.  Tip information may also be left anonymously at or by calling (916) 874-TIPS (8477).
