Homicide on Little Oak Lane

On November 10, 2018, at 12:50 a.m., the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department Communications Center began receiving 911 calls from an apartment complex located at 4901 Little Oak Lane. The callers indicated there was a shooting at the location and a male had been shot.

Deputies responded to the area and located the victim who had sustained at least one gunshot wound to his upper body. The deputies immediately began administering life-saving measures while waiting for paramedics to arrive.

Sacramento Metro Fire Personnel arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Sheriff’s Department Homicide Detectives have responded and will remain at the scene throughout the morning as they piece together the details of this incident.  At this point, detectives are speaking with witnesses and reviewing the evidence at the scene.  The Sheriff’s Department does not have any suspects in custody and detectives have not yet identified a motive for the shooting, however, it is believed the victim was targeted.

The identity of the victim, in this case, will be made available by the Sacramento County Coroner’s office after notification has been made to his next of kin.
