Homicide - Seeking Public’s Assistance

At 2:02pm on Sunday April 14, 2019, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a deceased male inside a residence in the 7000 block of Peevey Court in South Sacramento.

Detectives responded and determined the male was the victim of a homicide.

Over the course of the investigation that followed, detectives identified a suspect in this case as 30-year-old Joshua Thomas Vaden of Sacramento. Vaden has an active warrant for murder and is also a Parolee-At-Large (see attached photo).

Detectives are also seeking the identity of a person of interest (see attached photo).

The victim’s vehicle is also outstanding and has been identified as a gray 2017 Ford Fiesta with Illinois plate AM73381 (see attached).

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of the suspect or identity of the person of interest or victim vehicle is urged to contact the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office at (916) 874-5115 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP. Tip information may also be left anonymously at or by calling (916) 874-TIPS (8477). Tipsters may be eligible for a reward by providing information leading to the arrest of this suspect through Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers.
