**Update** Homicide Investigation in North Highlands


Sacramento County Sheriff’s homicide detectives arrested 34-year-old Frank Swanson (see attached photo) in the death of a 78-year-old man in North Highlands. Swanson was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.

No further information is available at this time.


At approximately 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2020, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a call from in the 3700 block of Bolivar Avenue in North Highlands. The male caller stated he struck his grandfather with a baseball bat and he was dead.

Deputies responded and contacted the male caller in the roadway, where he was detained. Deputies located an elderly male inside the home with apparent trauma to his body. Deputies immediately began life saving measures while fire personnel responded. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
