Thank you for your interest in the Main Jail Ride Along Program! This dynamic program is designed for the community, students, and/or those interested in a
criminal justice career to enhance your knowledge and provide valuable insight to some of the daily operations of a custodial facility and the outstanding
professional men and women who operate it.
Unlike the field service ride along program, you will not be riding in a patrol vehicle. Instead, you will be assigned to a custodial officer and have an opportunity
to ask questions and experience first hand his/her daily activities in their assignment. You will be mobile (on foot) so you should plan on doing a lot of walking.
Appropriate walking shoes are a must. (See clothing section for further details).
In order to be considered for participation in the program, you must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum age of 18 (No Exceptions!)
- Must possess a valid form of identification (i.e., CA ID, DL, passport)
- Must not be on active probation or parole
- No felony convictions
- Must not be an associate or member of any gang
You must also complete an application and sign a waiver form. Applications may only be submitted via US Mail with an original signature on the form. Providing
false or misleading information in the application is an automatic disqualifier from participating in the Ride Along Program.

Application & waiver forms can be accessed online (see below) or obtained from the public counter of the Main Jail. Once completed, please
