Double Homicide on Fruitridge Road

A little after 12:00 p.m. on May 11, 2017, the Sheriff’s Communication Center received a 911 call regarding a shooting in the 5200 block of Fruitridge Road in South Sacramento.

Deputies responded to the scene and located a male victim on the ground in the parking lot of a strip mall.  A second male victim was located in the same parking lot.  Both victims sustained gunshot wounds.  Sacramento Metro Fire responded to the scene, and pronounced both victims deceased at the scene.  The victims appeared to be in their late teens to early twenties, but have yet to be positively identified.

Witnesses heard several gunshots in the area, and observed at least two suspects in a light colored SUV flee the scene east on Fruitridge Road.  There is no further suspect description, and the motive of the shooting is unknown at this time.  Homicide detectives are on-scene and beginning their investigation.

The identity of the victims in this case will be made available by the Sacramento County Coroner’s office, after notification has been made to their next of kin.
