Abc Grant Awarded to the Rancho Cordova Police Department

The Rancho Cordova Police Department has been awarded a grant from the State of California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC).  The Rancho Cordova Police Department will collaborate with other city and county departments and shareholders to identify and target problem licensed locations.

The grant will improve patrol investigative response to the problem licensed premises by forming a working relationship with ABC and establishing a direct contact with ABC personnel.  This will also reduce the negative effects on the community and the problematic licensed locations for the Rancho Cordova Police Department.  The grant will provide education to licensees and their employees, and enforcement of ABC laws with a focus on general enforcement of On-Sale problem establishments in the City of Rancho Cordova, Gold River and Rosemont areas.

Multiple operations will be conducted by Rancho Cordova Police officers with experience enforcing ABC law and with assistance from ABC agents.  Strategies to reduce the sales of alcoholic beverages to minors and reduce the availability of alcoholic beverages to minors will be emphasized through coordinated minor decoy and shoulder tap operations conducted throughout the grant period.
