Early Morning Homicide in North Highlands

A little after 12:00 a.m. on August 22, 2017, the Sheriff’s Communication Center received a 911 regarding a shooting which occurred in the 4100 block of Painter Way in North Highlands.

Deputies responded to the scene and located a 34-year-old male victim on the ground near the front door of the residence.  The victim was suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.  Sacramento Metro Fire responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.  The victim lived at the residence.  There was evidence of forced entry into the residence by the suspect(s).  The motive and suspect(s) description is unknown at this time.

The identity of the victim in this case will be made available by the Sacramento County Coroner’s office, after notification has been made to his next of kin.
