Arrest in Rosemont Area Homicide

On May 30, 2018, at 12:22 a.m. the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 9200 block of Lilibet Avenue in the Rosemont area of east Sacramento County for reports of gunshots being heard in the area.  Upon arrival, deputies located a male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  The victim was later identified as 26-year-old Jaymes Alexander of Sacramento.  Despite the lifesaving efforts of Sheriff’s Deputies Alexander was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics.

Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Detectives responded to the scene and began their investigation.  During the course of this investigation, detectives developed a suspect and identified him as 31-year-old David Young of Sacramento.

On June 3, 2018, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department Detectives assigned to the Major Crimes Bureau located Young in Roseville, California.  Young was arrested for his involvement in the murder of Alexander and later booked into custody at the Sacramento County Main Jail where he is being held without bail due to his charges.
