Arrest in Burns Way Homicide Investigation

On June 24, 2018, at 4:07 A.M. the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department communications center received a 911 call from the 6300 block of Burns Way in south Sacramento County.  The caller indicated he arrived at a residence to check on a friend, who was not responding to calls.  The caller explained he found his friend inside the home deceased.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the location and based upon the condition of the victim and the interior of the residence, believed the circumstances surrounding this death to be suspicious.  Homicide detectives later responded to the scene and began their investigation.

On July 23, 2018, Sheriff’s Department Homicide Detectives arrested 25-year-old David Saechao of Sacramento, for the murder of the 59-year-old male victim in this case.  Saechao, who was already in custody for other charges, remains in custody at the Sacramento County Main Jail and is being held without bail due to the nature of these new charges.

To date, the Sacramento County Coroners Office is still working to contact the victims’ next of kin.  The identity of the victim will be made available by the Sacramento County Coroner’s office upon completion of this notification.
