**Update**shooting Investigation in South Sacramento


The suspect in this case, Trey Devaughn Hallman, was taken into custody without incident by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office in Antioch, California a short time ago. He will be transported back to Sacramento County where he will be booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on charges related to this incident.

One of the victims in this case remains in critical condition, while the two other victims are in stable condition.

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Oakland Police Department for assisting in the safe capture of Hallman.


At 5:30 a.m. on Friday August 23, 2019 the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a shooting in the 10000 block of Clover Ranch Drive in the South Sacramento Vineyard neighborhood. The caller stated his roommate shot him, was wearing body armor and was possibly armed with multiple firearms. He also said he had 4 additional roommates and did not know if they were also shot.

Upon arrival, deputies located three gunshot victims, all males in their 20’s. All three victims were transported to area hospitals. One of the males sustained life-threatening injuries, while the other two sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Two additional males in their 20’s were inside the residence at the time of the shooting, but were not shot.  

Deputies located a handgun inside the residence.

The suspect has been identified as 25-year-old Trey Devaughn Hallman (See attached photo). Hallman left the scene prior to deputies’ arrival. He is considered armed and dangerous and his whereabouts is unknown at this time.
