**Update** Homicide Investigation in North Sacramento

Homicide detectives arrested 45-year-old Garrick Correa (see attached photo) in the stabbing death of a 22-year-old male in the 3400 block of Whitney Avenue. Correa was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.

Detectives believe the stabbing occurred during a verbal altercation between the suspect and victim. No further details are available at this time. The relationship between the suspect and victim is still under investigation.


At approximately 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, the Sheriff’s Communications Center received a call from the 3400 block of Whitney Avenue regarding a male who had been stabbed.

Detectives do not believe anyone involved is outstanding at this time.

The identity of the victim in this case will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after notification of next of kin.
