Homicide Investigation in North Sacramento *Update*

As Sheriff’s Homicide detectives continue their investigation into a shooting that occurred on Saturday, October 3, 2020 in the 3400 block of El Camino Avenue, we are able to provide the following updates:

The suspect, a 33-year-old male, was pronounced deceased on scene.

The first victim, a 27-year-old male, was shot by the suspect and transported to an area hospital. He was subsequently pronounced deceased. The second victim, a 19-year-old male, was shot by the suspect and transported to an area hospital. He remains in critical condition. The third victim, a 30-year-old male, was shot by the suspect and transported to an area hospital. He is expected to survive his injuries.

At this time, detectives do not believe the suspect and victims were known to each other. A motive for the shooting is unknown and is part of the on-going investigation.

At approximately 3:09 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2020, the Sheriff’s Communications Center received a call from the 3400 block of El Camino Avenue in the County of Sacramento regarding a shooting within a store.
