Today, November 11, 2021, George Clifton Brown (28) was add-booked on two felony charges of attempt murder stemming from the incident on November 10, 2021, for which he was initially arrested.  Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Gang Suppression Unit Detectives identified victim(s) through the investigative process.  The victim(s) had not acknowledged themselves nor had come forward.  Brown continues to be held at the Main Jail without bail.

Gang Suppression Unit Detectives are asking anyone with information relating to this incident, to please contact them at (916) 874-5209 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP. Tip information may also be left anonymously at or by calling (916) 874-TIPS (8477).

On November 10, 2021, at approximately 9:36 a.m. there was a 5 round ShotSpotter activation within south Sacramento County.  Deputies were dispatched less than a minute later and arrived at the activation address shortly thereafter.

When deputies arrived at the dispatched address, they contacted an adult male subject, who had a clearly visible gun magazine sticking out of his pocket.  Deputies detained and later arrested the subject, George Clifton Brown (28), who is a validated gang member, for having a concealed weapon on his person.  Brown had three warrants for “driving under the influence” out of two California Counties.

Brown was transported to the Main Jail on three fresh felony counts, possession of a firearm by a felon, carrying a loaded firearm registered to another and discharge of a firearm in a grossly negligent manner and is being held on $500,000 bail.  He will be in court next week to answer for the charges.
