Homicide Investigation on Callie Lane *Suspect in Custody*

Shortly after 6:00 a.m. on Monday, December 21, 2020, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a disturbance call from the 5700 block of Callie Lane in Sacramento County.  The caller advised that a woman, later determined to be the caller’s wife, needed help.

Deputies responded and located a 26-year-old, adult female inside of an apartment that sustained at least one gunshot wound to the upper body.  Deputies performed life-saving measures, however, moments later, fire personnel arrived and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene, gathered evidence and interviewed witnesses.  After a thorough investigation, 27-year-old, Shakel Samier Beasley, the victim’s husband, was later arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for murder.  At this time, no further suspects are outstanding.

There were four juveniles inside of the residence during the time of the incident, however, they were unharmed and were subsequently placed into protective custody.

The identity of the victim in this case will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after identification and notification of next of kin.
