Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center (Rccc) Temporary Closure of Visitations

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office will cease all social visits to inmates at the Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center (RCCC) located at 12500 Bruceville Rd in Elk Grove beginning today at 8:00PM.  Any visit scheduled with a date and time after 8:00PM today, December 30, 2020, will be canceled due to Covid-19 concerns. This moratorium will last until further notice.  Legal and professional visits will continue as scheduled.

The Sheriff’s Office values visitation as an essential part of our jail operations, but at this time, the health and wellness of all those who work, live, and visit our campus must be protected.  We will continue to ensure the safety and security of the people who work and live in our facility while providing continued access to medical and mental health services for the inmate population.

The visitation closure is a precautionary measure in an effort to mitigate unnecessary exposure to the COVID-19 virus.  The Sheriff’s Office is prepared to address exposure to COVID-19 through infection control practices already in place to prevent the spread of any communicable diseases within our facility.
