The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying an elderly, Asian, male adult found in North Sacramento on September 7, 2021, at approximately 1:10 pm. The Sheriff’s Communications Center received a call in the 6400 block of Channing Drive. The caller advised that an elderly, Asian, male adult in a wheelchair had been outside of their residence for approximately 35 minutes. Because of the extreme heat and his heavy clothing, the caller gave the subject water, but due to a language barrier, was unable to communicate with the subject.
Officers arrived and contacted the subject. Through a translator, officers ascertained that his name may be Yan Moun born in either January or April of 1926. Throughout the contact, the subject mentioned to the translator that he was born in Cambodia and may have recently come from Texas, but now resides in Oak Park in South Sacramento. He appears to suffer from a memory loss-related illness. Fire personnel transported the subject to an area hospital for treatment where he has remained.
The subject was found wearing a light blue beanie, a dark blue sweatshirt and blue jeans. He is approximately 85-95 years old, 5’2”, 123 lbs., with brown eyes and a bald head. Please take a close look at the attached photo to see if you recognize him. We have no further information at this time.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone knowing the identity of this subject to please contact the Sheriff’s Office at (916) 874-5115 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP. Tip information may also be left anonymously at www.sacsheriff.com or by calling (916) 874-TIPS (8477).
