Arrest Made in Attempt Homicide Investigation

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Bureau arrested Chad Jones (36) of Sacramento County for the attempted murder (shooting) of an adult male subject yesterday, July 28, 2022, near Glendale Lane and Alta Arden.  Major Crimes Detectives tracked Jones to the City of Sacramento and took him into custody at approximately 5am this morning.  The Sheriff’s Office thanks the Sacramento Police Department’s SWAT for their assistance in apprehending Mr. Jones.  Jones is well known to local law enforcement and was on Formal Searchable Probation (Until 2024) stemming from felony cases dating back to 2019; he was prohibited from possessing firearms.

Jones was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on a single count of attempted murder and is being held without bail.  He will be in court (Department 62) on Tuesday August 2, 2022, at 3pm.  No suspects are outstanding in this case.  No further information is available at this time.
