Homicide in Rio Linda

Just before 7:30 P.M. on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residential neighborhood on 14th Street in Rio Linda regarding a report of a deceased person on the side of the road. Deputies arrived at the scene and discovered a deceased adult male. Based on their initial observations, they suspected the death may have been by suspicious means and requested detectives to respond. 

Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene, interviewed witnesses, and gathered evidence. The victim’s cause of death is still under investigation. The victim’s information will be made available by the Sacramento County Coroner. No further information is available at this time.
