Deputies from the Sheriff’s North Division High Impact Policing (HIP) team investigated a known drug dealer in the Orangevale area. The suspect was located and arrested at a local park in possession of fentanyl, methamphetamine, cash, and a digital scale.
Deputies executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence, which led to the discovery of two illegally possessed rifles, an unserialized Polymer80 handgun (often referred to as a “ghost gun”), an unregistered Colt .45 handgun, an unregistered Glock 19X, multiple loaded magazines, various rounds of ammunition, and nearly $35,000 in cash.
The suspect, 35-year-old Daniel Reed, is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition. He was transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail and booked into custody, where he remains ineligible for bail. Reed is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow (July 30).
Reed’s booking photo is prohibited from being posted due to California law.
