Recently, REACT (Regional Enforcement of All Crimes Team) stopped a vehicle for several traffic violations and K9 Maverick hit on the scent of narcotics. This led to the discovery of 5 pounds of methamphetamine and one kilogram of fentanyl inside the vehicle. That’s equivalent to over 22,000 “user” doses of methamphetamines and a 500,000 lethal doses of fentanyl.
The driver and passenger, 34-year-old Marco Duarte-Gonzalez and 28-year-old Alexander Rodriguez Hernandez, both from San Bernardino, were arrested and now face multiple felony charges, including drug trafficking.
REACT is a multi-agency task force made up of the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, CHP - Valley Division, El Dorado County Sheriff's Office, and the Placer County District Attorney's Office, all working together to keep dangerous drugs off our streets.
Their booking photos are prohibited from being posted due to California law, as none of their offenses are “legally defined” as violent crimes.
