Suspect in Custody After South Sacramento Robbery

Yesterday morning (August 20, 2025) at approximately 10:30 AM, Central Division Patrol Deputies responded to a gas station on the 3800 block of 47th Avenue in South Sacramento, to the report of a robbery. When Deputies arrived, they learned the victim had just left the gas station after making a purchase, walked out, and was followed by a male later identified as 26-year-old James Terrell.

Terrell then confronted the victim near his vehicle and demanded his wallet, threatening to assault him if he did not give it up. Terrell then punched the victim several times, and the victim eventually gave up his wallet containing several hundred dollars. Terrell then drove away.

Less than an hour later, Central POP Deputies located Terrell driving the vehicle near Center Parkway and Mack Road. Deputies conducted a vehicle stop and detained Terrell without incident. He was subsequently booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail, where he remains on $50,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow (August 22).
