Life-Saving Actions Honored

Last week, Deputy Trummel received the California Highway Patrol’s Life-Saving Award for his heroic actions on October 16, 2022.

On that night, a CHP officer was struck by an impaired driver while working a fatal crash scene. Hearing the call over the radio, Deputy Trummel immediately responded and applied lifesaving pressure to a severe leg wound, while other officers applied a tourniquet.

His quick response and calm under pressure were crucial in stopping further blood loss and stabilizing the officer, ultimately allowing doctors to save both the officer’s leg and his life.

We are proud of Deputy Trummel’s courage and dedication, protecting those who protect others.
