Sacramento Woman Arrested for Brutal Assault on Husband and Young Children

Last night, North Patrol Deputies responded to a violent assault at an apartment on the 2800 block of Corabel Lane in Sacramento, after a child called 911 crying and told our dispatcher, “My mom is trying to kill me with a knife.”

Deputies arrived within minutes and safely detained the child’s mother, identified as 38-year-old Farishta Rahimi.

During their investigation, Deputies learned Rahimi and her spouse argued over a broken iPad, when Rahimi struck him with a vacuum cord, causing visible injuries. Rahimi then assaulted her 10-year-old child with a metal pole, resulting in visible injuries and possible broken bones. She then armed herself with a kitchen knife and lunged at her 11-year-old child, cutting the child’s hand and causing visible injuries.

A 4-year-old child was also present during the assault, but was luckily unharmed.

Rahimi was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on multiple felony charges. At the request of investigators, a judge authorized a $500,000 bail enhancement due to the violent nature of the case. Rahimi is scheduled to appear in court on October 3.
