Last night around 9:30 PM, Sheriff’s North Patrol Deputies responded to a residence on the 4300 block of Laurelwood Way after receiving a 911 call of someone being hit with a hammer. When Deputies arrived, they located an adult male victim bleeding from his head. Deputies learned the victim was in an argument with his roommate, later identified as 53-year-old Chad Crawford, when Crawford struck the victim on the head with a hammer.
The victim was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive. Deputies on scene located Crawford nearby and took him into custody without incident. He was transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail, where is he is being held on $50,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on October 10.
